AlphaGo, Canteen, Sydney, 2021

"For this exhibition McClellan has made an image generator based on his own
past paintings. Following this he has then made paintings of the generated
images. The Alphago body of work is a combination of the original paintings
and those painted from generated images.
AlphaGo is an artificial intelligence agent that is specialized to play Go, a
Chinese strategy board game, against human competitors. The ability to create a
learning algorithm that can beat a human player at strategic games is a measure
of AI development. AlphaGo learnt how to play by studying human games, but
in the end it plays differently."
